wildflower botanical beverages concept design
Summary
For my latest project, I designed a concept for a unique beverage company. This project aimed to teach my graphic design students how to create a full brand identity.
The final project this semester was to create a brand identity for a fictional beverage company. I walked my students through the design process step-by-step so they could understand the intricacies of creating a cohesive brand identity.
I imagined the company as a women-owned business based in western Montana, focusing on botanical beverages with sustainably sourced ingredients.
This project gave my students hands-on experience in branding, especially for a market that values sustainability.
The design project requirements included a logo, business card, letterhead, label designs for the beverages, and an advertisement.
I started with the logo design, aiming to capture the brand’s commitment to sustainability and natural ingredients. The logo uses elements that reflect the purity and botanical nature of the beverages, including an illustration of a Purple Cone-Flower (Echinacea Purpurea), which is native to Montana.
Next, I worked on the packaging design. I emphasized eco-friendly materials, like glass bottles, aluminum cans, and biodegradable labels. The packaging not only stands out on the shelves but also shows the brand’s dedication to the environment.
The final part of the project was creating a comprehensive style guide. This guide helps maintain brand consistency across all platforms. It includes instructions on logo usage, color palettes, typography, and visual elements, ensuring the brand is cohesive and recognizable.
This project provided a valuable learning experience for my students. It shows the importance of a thoughtful approach to brand development, which can significantly enhance a company’s presence in a competitive market.
